Thick Heating Cables
Now available in both 120 & 240 V models!
Just over 1/4" or 7mm thick, these tough heating cables are the contractor's choice for concrete slab heating and over sub-floor primary heating applications. The benefit of using thicker heating cables includes:
- The only heating cable product certified for embedding in concrete slabs. Ideal for slab on grade construction, basements and garages. Typically installed over 2" or more of rigid foam insulation and attached to 6"x6" welded wire mesh with nylon cable ties - these cables are easy to install and the most cost effective solution for heating concrete slabs. These are also the best choice for drypack installations.
- Construction site friendly. They are almost impossible to damage since they have such a thick and tough outer jacket. From our experience this is essential in new construction since nobody wants to be responsible for replacing finished flooring and the heating system in the event of damage caused by other trades.
- Higher linear output means less cable to lay and lower cost per SF or M2. These cables are designed for primary heating applications and are consequently more powerful and designed to last.
- Ideally suited for un-reinforced sub-floor installations when used in conjunction with metal mesh and embedded in a nominal 3/8" thick overpour.
- Similarily suitable for installation under natural 3/4" hardwood with 3/8" plywood strapping and mortar between cable runs.
